Successful completion of the second cycle of the project “English for Civil Servants”
The second cycle of YALS and the American Embassy Belgrade project entitled “Teaching English to Serbian civil servants working at local government units with the focus on practical skills needed to communicate more fluently with their EU counterparts” officially ended at the beginning of June.
After the success of the first cycle of the project, in the second cycle, 14 municipalities around Serbia, from Leskovac to Kula, had about 160 of their employees enrolled on the course. The course participants came from various institutions, such as local public administrations, courts, tourist organizations, museums, competence centres, libraries, cultural centres, schools, the Ministry of Health and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
In the evaluation forms, the participants emphasised how useful and practical the knowledge gained in this course has been and how much attending the course has improved their communication in English. As the course participants were carefully selected and some of them have been participating in international projects, the tailored curriculum has empowered them to engage even more in projects and take more active roles in their project teams.
The success of the second cycle has motivated us to apply for the third cycle.
We are looking forward to welcoming new participants!
