{"id":9716,"date":"2011-02-26T15:46:27","date_gmt":"2011-02-26T14:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yals.rs\/supporting-quality-language-schools-zagreb-24-25-february-2011\/"},"modified":"2011-02-26T15:46:27","modified_gmt":"2011-02-26T14:46:27","slug":"supporting-quality-language-schools-zagreb-24-25-february-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yals.rs\/en\/supporting-quality-language-schools-zagreb-24-25-february-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Supporting Quality Language Schools, Zagreb, 24-25 February 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4136\" src=\"https:\/\/yals.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/2011-02-zagreb-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yals.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/2011-02-zagreb-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/yals.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/2011-02-zagreb-1.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"text-align: center;\">YALS representatives at Regional Association Meeting<br \/>\nFrom right to left: Dijana Kisi\u0107, Danijela Veljkovi\u0107 i Eva Bako<\/p>\n<p>The regional meeting of Associations of Private Language Schools that was organized by the British Council Office in Croatia\u00a0was attended by the following National Associations:\u00a0Bulgaria ( OPTIMA ), Romania ( QUEST ), Macedonia (MAQS),\u00a0Bosnia and Herzegovina ( APLS ), Croatia (CALS ),\u00a0and Serbia ( YALS ).<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo were also present together with the representatives of the British Council from the respected countries.<\/p>\n<p>The first part of the meeting included ten minute presentations of all the mentioned associations.<\/p>\n<p>The second part included the following presentations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>What is quality in language teaching organisations: beliefs,challenges and schemes<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; Lutka Kotarska ( EAQUALS )<\/li>\n<li><em>Quality by association<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Tony Millns ( English UK )<\/li>\n<li><em>Quality from experience\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; Elizabeth McLaren ( Accreditation UK)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further work was carried out under the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>The first topic was:\u00a0<em>Entry qualifications and quality assurance &#8211;\u00a0<\/em><em>the Croatian and Serbian Perspective<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Danijela Veljkovic : spoke about her she became a member of\u00a0 YALS<\/li>\n<li>Dijana Kisic: dealt with the prerequisites of becoming member of YALS<\/li>\n<li>Eva Bako : described what regular inspections, every two and three years, for YALS members consisted of.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A joint discussion followed the presentations. It was evident that all associations were faced with similar problems and difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>However the Croatian Association has succeeded in achieving cooperation with their Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<p>The next topic was:\u00a0<em>Managing the association- Macedonian and\u00a0<\/em><em>Romanian perspectives<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The discussion which followed the presentations, it was evident that the work of the Macedonian association was primarily bases on the\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">enthusiasm of its head-chair whereas the Romanian colleagues are more systematic in their mutual work within the association. This is especially evident in the large number of European projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The final topic:\u00a0<em>Government support and legal status- Bosnian and \u00a0<\/em><em style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Bulgarian perspectives \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Bosnian association has only just been founded and is faced with numerous legal obstacles in their work.
