YALS representatives at Regional Association Meeting

The regional meeting of Associations of Private Language Schools that was organized by the British Council Office in Croatia\u00a0was attended by the following National Associations:\u00a0Bulgaria ( OPTIMA ), Romania ( QUEST ), Macedonia (MAQS),\u00a0Bosnia and Herzegovina ( APLS ), Croatia (CALS ),\u00a0and Serbia ( YALS ).<\/p>\n
Representatives from Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo were also present together with the representatives of the British Council from the respected countries.<\/p>\n
The first part of the meeting included ten minute presentations of all the mentioned associations.<\/p>\n
The second part included the following presentations:<\/p>\n
Further work was carried out under the following topics:<\/p>\n
The first topic was:\u00a0Entry qualifications and quality assurance –\u00a0<\/em>the Croatian and Serbian Perspective<\/em><\/p>\n A joint discussion followed the presentations. It was evident that all associations were faced with similar problems and difficulties.<\/p>\n However the Croatian Association has succeeded in achieving cooperation with their Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n The next topic was:\u00a0Managing the association- Macedonian and\u00a0<\/em>Romanian perspectives<\/em><\/p>\n The discussion which followed the presentations, it was evident that the work of the Macedonian association was primarily bases on the\u00a0enthusiasm of its head-chair whereas the Romanian colleagues are more systematic in their mutual work within the association. This is especially evident in the large number of European projects.<\/span><\/p>\n The final topic:\u00a0Government support and legal status- Bosnian and \u00a0<\/em>Bulgarian perspectives \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n The Bosnian association has only just been founded and is faced with numerous legal obstacles in their work.
