The Conference theme was ‘Language schools and academic excellence in the digital age’, and there were about 80 participants from various educational institutions from the EU and region.

The aim of the Conference was to foster changes in education in accordance with the dynamic demands of contemporary society with the use of all available sources of knowledge, first of all modern technologies.

The presenters were respectable experts from Cambridge, Oxford, Barcelona, Athens and hosts from Split, Amber IT Solutions and Jantar school.

Apart from the possibility to find out what is the latest in the world of foreign language teaching, this Conference was an excellent opportunity for us to learn from our host’s experience about the Erasmus projects implementation, to get to know potential partners for future projects, but also to remember the beauties of Split and kind and hospitable people living in it.

15th YALS In-house Seminar in Centar Britannica Niš

15th YALS In-house Seminar at Britannica, Niš

The 15th YALS in-house seminar was held on 2nd September, 2017. The event was called “Optimization of websites and digital marketing”, with the particular focus on optimization of language school websites for the internet search engines and use of social networks to promote foreign language learning. Centar Britannica Niš, the host of the seminar, celebrated their 10th anniversary on this day.
Emilija Ušćumlić-Ković, teacher and co-owner of the school held two workshops, and 26 colleagues from 14 member schools took part in this event.
The topic of the first workshop was what needs to be done to get the website on the first page of a search engine, while the second workshop dealt with modern social networks, particularly Facebook, and how to use them for business purposes.

The seminar was primarily aimed at school managers and secretaries, as they are most involved in marketing activities.

Here is some of participants’ feedback:
